Much
research has been done on the healing properties of the
minerals found in the Dead Sea mud and salt. Dermatologist’s
studies have shown that sodium and chloride are essential
for healthy glowing skin. These minerals are an essential
part of cell metabolism. Clinical studies have shown that
soaking in a solution of Dead Sea salt is highly effective
in the treatment of dermatological diseases and conditions
such as psoriasis and eczema, and it is recommended for
the relief from the aches and pains associated with muscle
tension, arthritis, and rheumatism. At La Mirage Day Spa
clients can begin their experience by restoring a healthy
smooth texture to the skin with either natural body scrub
or body exfoliation which is performed with natural botanical
products. Warm mud is then lavishly applied from neck to
toe for body firming toning followed by either hot stone
therapeutic massage or any other massage or facial treatment.
Talking with La Mirage's massage therapist or skin therapist
can help design a treatment plan to target your specific
goals. We believe nurturing the body brings healing powers
to the soul. Showers, gowns and robes available.

Glycolic Facial
Peel: Our
Glycolic Facial Peel is designed to take advantage of the
best effects of the substance "Glycolic Acid".
Largely used in modern cosmetology, Glycolic Acid is extracted
from sugar canes and is the most active and beneficial of
the Alpha-Hydroxy-Acids (AHA) in skin care. The skillful
application of a Glycolic Acid mask gently peels the top
layers of the skin and removes dead cells, smoothing and
rejuvenating the skin appearance, while reducing uneven pigmentation,
acne scars, aging wrinkles, age spots and more. Glycolic
Acid also boosts new formation of collagen (which plumps
cells and enhances skin's firmness), and has been proven
to be very effective in the treatment of acne. Our Glycolic
Facial Peel includes a Glycolic Acid mask that gently (and
thoroughly) exfoliates the skin, followed by a soothing mask
and moisture protection. This treatment gives your skin a
silky, smooth texture. Glycolic acid has been responsible
for making skin look and feel younger for years by eliminating
fine lines, dark spots and blemishes. Please Note: The glycolic
facial peel should be given after successful use of a glycolic
product for 2 to 4 weeks that has been recommended by La
Mirage skin care professional. (1 hour) - $120

- Hawaiian
Lomi Lomi Massage: This
massage has special ways to release and unblock the powers
of the physical body so that
the healing can take place more quickly and completely. This unique bodywork
is a subtle, yet a powerful form of massage, the technique
is an important part of the massage and associated healing.
The Hawaiians look at things in terms of energy flow,
following the premise that an idea or belief can block
energy flow as much as muscle tension can. Lomi Lomi
uses body and energy work to help release the blockages,
while at the same time giving the energy new direction
and set new patterns. This results in mental clarity
and physical release thereby allowing for powerful healing.
Lomi Lomi massage therapists undertake training to develop
and enhance their technique and skills. A deep understanding
of the Huna philosophy, with skills in counseling is
also undertaken. They have usually undergone and experienced
many levels of their own personal healing and life changes,
enhancing their understanding of the healing process.
Also known as the 'temple style', this graceful in-depth
bodywork is profoundly healing.
- 1 Hour
Lomi Lomi Massage - $140
- 2 Hour
Lomi Lomi Massage - $250
Since
lubricating oils such as kukui nut, macadamia nut and coconut
are used as nutritional moisturizers throughout the Lomi
Lomi massage, there will be minimal draping of the client.
If you are not comfortable with this, we suggest that you
have a Swedish or Deep Tissue Massage instead.
- Sauna
Embrace Therapy: A
sauna is a bath that uses dry heat to induce perspiration.
Unlike a steam bath, a sauna uses very high temperatures
to relax muscles and causes profuse sweating to clean pores
and foster respiratory wellness. In a sauna, you do not
see steam. Heat helps improve blood circulation and speeds
up the body's natural healing processes. It also contributes
to a deep cleansing of the skin, relieving of stress, and
a general feeling of rejuvenation .

Therapeutic & Deep
Tissue Massage: Swedish
Massage was begun in the 19th century by Swedish physiologist
Per Henrik Ling using Swedish gymnastics and range of
motion movements involving body stretching. A
basic Swedish massage consists of long, light, gliding
strokes over the body using essential oils. A
La Mirage Therapeutic Massage takes the basics of a Swedish
Massage and is then custom designed to meet the particular
needs and preferences of each client. Our massage work
can be light for relaxation and stress relief, or deep,
working specific muscles that are tired, overworked,
in spasm or injured. Most often, sessions will be a combination
of massage techniques. In addition, various other modalities
and bodywork approaches may be incorporated as part of
the session. A La Mirage
Therapeutic Massage gives you many
benefits; it relaxes the nervous system and aids your
circulation, releasing endorphins and it reduces stress,
helping relieve pain in joints and muscles. After a La
Mirage Therapeutic Massage you will
feel very relaxed. A
Deep Tissue Massage is recommended for the client
that has real problematic
conditions such as chronic, deep tension
and stress. Using an elbow with direct pressure on a
specific area and slow, deep breathing from the client
is a sure relief of tightened muscles. When using the
forearm a broader area is covered, similar to a rolling
pin effect. It is also
recommended that you drink lots of water after your massage
to help your body remove the toxins released from the
muscles.

the stress and pain with a massage that is custom tailored just
for you! (This massage is not available for women in their first
trimester of pregnancy) - $90
Hot
Stone Therapeutic Massage: Aromatic
Body Stone Therapy integrates
the use of smooth, heated
basalt rocks hand picked
from the coastline of Puget
Sound, essential oils, and
Swedish massage strokes.
The stones are heated with
water, then the massage therapist
applies them to the body
using her hands and essential
oils. Swedish massage techniques
are used throughout the massage
to induce total comfort and
pure relaxation. Aromatherapy
used with the heat of the
water and stones aids relaxation
to the limbic brain. Warm
stones are placed on the
chakra points of the body
in alignment with the spinal
column to help promote balance
of energy. A chakra is thought
to be an energy node in the
human body. The word comes
from the Sanskrit "cakra" meaning "wheel,
circle", and sometimes
also referring to the "wheel
of life". One of the
major chakra points is the
heart, which is the center
of love, harmony and peace.
Asian cultures have used
the chakra system for about
4000 years. - $99
-
Reflexology: Reflexology
uses the thumbs, knuckles
and fingers to apply pressure
to specific reflex points
on your feet. Reflexology
can also be done on your
hands and ears, but the
feet are the most common.
There are 7200 nerve endings
in each foot, interconnecting
with the spinal cord. When
pressure is applied to
certain foot areas, it
triggers the release of
stress and tension to the
part of the body you want
to work on. It also unblocks
nerve impulses to improve
the blood supply to all
parts of the body. Clients
usually feel relief from
tension and pain, a greater
feeling of well-being,
and have an increased level
of energy. Some forms of
reflexology were practiced
by ancient Egyptians dating
back to 2300 BC. - $40

Chair
Massage: Chair
massage focuses on your upper
body, which is where many
of us hold tension from sitting
at a desk or using a computer.
It is performed in your normal
clothing and does not require
you to change or undress.
Instead of using a massage
table, the massage takes
places in a specially designed
portable chair. Leaning forward
in the chair allows you to
relax completely with your
head resting in a comfortable "face
cradle" that is lined
with a soft, clean cloth.
Your neck, shoulders, back,
arms and hands will be massaged
while leaning forward in
the chair. A Chair massage
is great for relieving shoulder
and neck tension and back
pain. You are encouraged
to communicate with the massage
therapist to let him/her
know if there are any "problem" areas
you would like to have targeted
and if you would like more
or less pressure. - $25
